Welcome to the Star Riders of Houston

Another year has come and gone and we have seen many changes throughout the year. The new officers and all club members look forward to another great year.

The DePelchin Toy Run was a success again, despite the foul weather that attempted to foil our plans. There were not many bikes on the run this year, but there were many people who attended in their other various motorized vehicles to help make sure the kids at DePelchin had a great Christmas. The children at the Richmond home enjoyed the presents and had a great time. Funds raised this year greatly exceeded expectations considering the weather. In addition to the Toy Run, Star Riders once again supplied Thanksgiving and Christmas lunch to the children. In the fall we held the school shopping day for the children and were able to provide new school outfits for all residents. The club had many other great rides and two outstanding trips to Bandera for the long weekends in the spring and fall.

There have been changes at the Richmond Home this year also. The mission of the facility has been changed from an Emergency Intake Facility to a Residential Treatment Center. The age range for the facility residents is 5 to 17 years of age. The children have issues with depression, bipolar disorders, adjustment issues, or other behavioral issues. They attend school at the facility in the class/ gym facility. Additional areas of assistance from the Star Riders to the DePelchin organization are always being reviewed.

Check the calendar for all upcoming events. Monthly rides with special weekends for Bandera (spring and fall) and Galveston Rally are in the works. Our ride coordinators are putting together some more great and enjoyable rides.

If you do not know the Star riders of Houston, our club is open to all bikes and all riders. You do not have to be a member to come to our meetings or go on rides, but once you do, you will want to return over and over again. All are welcome and we hope you come out and get to know us.
